The 1975 in Manila 2015

Halo! I know its been quite a while since I last updated this blog. I am really hoping that now that I got everything set up right that I'd be able to follow thru every now and then vs now and next year :P

2015 have been quite interesting , so far .. I'd say. We have only been on the 2nd month and I have seen 3 concerts already! Sakit sa bulsa but Guess what!? ITS JUST GETTING STARTED! Have you seen the line up for the upcoming shows in Manila just yet!? I seriously need a second job! Like for reals!

The first show I went to this year was The 1975. It was kinda sucky that I didn't get to meet Matty the way I did when he was in Singapore (yup, traveled the seas for this guy) but I am grateful that I got to meet Ross and Adam! Would have absolutely loved to have met George again who was so gracious and sweet when I met him in SG! but I guess It wasn't meant to happen this time :( I made a pinky promise to myself that the next time theyre touring ASIA, i am sooo touring with them too! haha Gotta get 3 more jobs though since Im purita mirasol! Well I have the rest of the year to worry about that unless they decide to come over before the year ends #wagmunaplease

Anyway, I was planning on hosting my pity party show on the concert itself which we all know happened in MOA ARENA but thanks for the instant upgrade. From all the way up, we got to watch 'em from the Lowerbox. haha I wish I can share the vids in here but seriously I was singing louder than Matty! It was unforgivable , pramis!

I also wish I cud give you guys more awesome pics but I dont own a DSLR (next project) so pls do bear with me at this time and I'll try not to disappoint on my next adventure!

8123 Manila Hungover

I was only going to watch the show to support my bff Dezzy who is *FACT* the biggest This Century fan in the entire world. Yes. I''ll bet my life on that! No one and I mean NO ONE adores Seannieasmuch as Dezzy does (buko much!) lols I have to admit, I wasn't really a fan when we bought the PRpasses 1st week of October ( Yes, Dezzy had to secure our slots :P ) but I cant allow myself to become that awkward person in the audience who doesnt know a line or 2 from any song . I mean I know "Into Your Arms' , the chorus atleast I'd say.. Prolly some songs from Nick Santino's previous band " A Rocket To The Moon" and some songs from This Century that I hear Dezzy singing all the time but that wouldn't make much of a difference ,won't it?.. So I did what I call "extensive reseach" and started looking up their albums , all 3 of 'em, The Maine, This Century, Nick Santino and the Northern Wind only to turn myself a LEGIT fan a week after.

Lets just say, They pretty much invaded my playlist.

They kept me company literally every working night ( my shift starts at 2 am, I knw ryt!? My life is awesome lols ) that I had to endure 2 hrs of long trip to the office. It kind of became my "me time" where I can just quietly enjoy the awesome music to myself on shuffle mode and I excite myself by guessing if my fave track is playing next. lol. All of a sudden It became a part of my daily life.

Anyway, I thought I'd just give a little background about how this "8123 tour" slowly climbed its way to the charts of my heart making it one of the bestest nights I ever have my entire fangirling life! Okay, So on with my story.

I tried filing a leave for the 11th of Jan cos I have somewhat predicted we will have some serious "business" to do but a team mate going to Bora had taken the slot before I could even plot it so Boohoo..Asa pa ko?     I had no choice but to head straight to our meeting place (Alabang to QC, imagine!?) with zero sleep , hopping from one ride to another and if it wasn't thrilling enough , I got a text message from Dezzy while I was at the bus that She and my other bff Sheila have met John friggin Ohh at the gym , Gracious goodness of all places! *drools*.. And had a pic already! I think I flew my way to the MRT , I mustve forgotten that I was tired and sleepy. I just had to be there asap. To cut it short, I got there, They had to get out of the place (dont ask why)  and we all agreed to go to Dezzy's place which is literally 5 minutes away from the guys so I can take a decent bath, get a 30 minute rest before we meet up with another friend of mine, Meanne who is also going with us.She flew from Singapore just for the show. Yeah . We are craaazy like that lols  So we left Dezzy's lovely home, got on a taxi when we got a phone call from Meanne saying that the guys are going to RX at Strata, Of course we immediately advised the driver to change the route and head to Ortigas instead. Nikita was nice enough to let us in including Meanne who went there straight na rin and There they were.. the ever perfect Joel Kanitz, The cutie Nick Santino and My ever drop dead gorgeous John O' Callaghan.. 6 letters.. HEAVEN. Hello, sila lang naman ung mga pinaka peg ko! lols

Joel and Nick left right away after the interview but John stayed to chat a little with the fans. John recognized my 2 friends Dezzy and Sheila so quick and teasingly asked  "So, Did you work out!? twice. referring to what happened few hours before at the gym where they pretended they were attracted to the treadmill and not with John Ohh in his gym clothes working it ! Like YEAH, He'd totally buy that! lols..Regardless I was really "kilig" for my friends! For "John O'hh Sexay Callaghan" to acknowledge your existence , Thats like winning a friggin lottery!!! Maybe not quite..but Im sure the feeling is quite the same. *sigh* . Anyway, I knew at that moment He is such a great guy!  There were lots of younger girls out there (younger talaga haha..inamin)  but he tried to make time even when the people he was with, were sort of rushing him cos they had to go some place. Being that I didn't get my chance of taking a pic with John Ohh. My ever supportive friends were literally pushing me towards him so I cud get a selfie and I was shaking the whole time cos Ive never taken a selfie with a band before. Pasmado kaya ako! I was kind of left without a choice so before John cud hit the glass door, I asked him for a pic and he obliged generously only I was freaking out too much that I suddenly didn't know where to look! Like Helloooo? Buti pa c John alam kung nasaan ang camera ng phone ko.. ako Nalito! Ang wafu kc eh!

So presenting my first band selfie #epicfail

We thought about ransacking every dining place set on Ortigas grounds hoping to catch a sight of the other boys cos Dezzie was already freaking out at the thought that she hasn't seen Seannie yet. Stalker lang lols
Si Seannie lang naman kc ang naginspire sa kanya to lose weight. So YES it is a big deal. Not just to her but to all of us na ma meet niya si Sean Silverman. Haba ng hair ni Sean lols

Turns out It was just the beginning of what-would-be one of the bestest nights of her life and ours cos thank you to our God given skills that I cannot publicly disclosed  #charaught We met the guys that night except for Joel and Nick but Hey, It took tremendous effort to get things done and we succeeded with flying colors ;)
All of them were uber nice ... and bcos of all that commotion and rushing from RX , I was only able to adore John completely when he was right there in front of me signing stuff for my friends..Yup Stupid me didnt bring anything lol..and Grabe lang, He's got the most beautiful eyes ever EVER!  I ain't even kidding... When he looked at me, I suddenly turned Olaf to Anna , I had to stop myself from saying "Some people are worth melting for" haha Fumu frozen lang! I didn't even realize how excited I was, I was half way done with putting a bracelet on when I realized I didn't even ask for permission to hold his hand lol Tengenek lang! haha He didn't mind at all and he was actually being sweet and appreciative and all that crap thats making me smile like crazy right now..  and OMG sobrang kota lang sa kanya kanyang peg. Sheila had this ultimate crush on Ryan and she gave Ry a customized shirt with his last name sewn at the back of the shirt and Ry liked it! He even said he'd wear it before the show. We also bought him a beer and nakipag cheers pa siya samen. He took some time chatting with us and u can tell that he was actually having fun. Tagumpay lang. I was so happy for Sheila! Meanne was bentang benta with The Maine cos she happen to meet them few months before at a show in SG so some of them still recognized her from SG.. and Dezzy , OMG She prolly spent like 20 minutes talking to Seannie and kahit napipikon na si Papa Garrett kc gusto na nya mag sleep at sabay cla bababa supposedly ni Sean , Waley xa choice kc c Papa Sean , sobrang nakatuon lang ang pansin kay Dezzie bear! Tinatagalog ko na baka mabasa nila eh haha .. I cant help but smile whenever I watch them talking haha lalo na kc chill na chill lang c Papa Sean ..I am so genuinely enjoying what I was seeing that I was soo ready to kill anyone who'd attempt to steal Dezzy's moment with Papa S! . I couldn't keep it to myself so I ended up telling Sean, "Youre the only reason why she's here" haha  What a bugaw of a friend I am , I know lols. I know some people may hate me for being this kilig for my friend but you have no idea how much effort she exerted to make this dream of her come true..She's like a sister to me so I'm just genuinely happy seeing her so happy :))

So without further ado ,  sharing some photos from that day!

Ansabe ng jowa pic ni Dezzy kay Seannie! lols

Relient K visits Manila

My best friend Dezzy invited me to see Relient K as they play live for Ayala Malls which happened September 27-29 of 2013. I have heard of them before but I admit I haven't really had the chance to browse through their music so I was quite ecstatic seeing them perform live!  My life as a free lance self proclaimed music researcher a.k.a fangirl extraordinaire ( it just sounded more interesting that way! haha ) - I have always been on the look out for music that I could fall madly deeply in love with.I enjoy going to random music fests, concerts and hear all these awesome artists perform live and if i get lucky - meet them and hear their interesting stories. Being that Music is my life since the day I was brought into this world.. I get so much inspiration just watching these artists making their dreams come true..Or just how awesomely they touch peoples lives like they do mine , musically. I mean, I can still remember the first concert I ever went to!!! I still remember how it felt ..I know for a fact that from then on, I was never the same :)

The moment Relient K started playing their first song , I just immediately felt connected with their music. It felt so familiar that some of their songs felt like home. As I watch and listen to these guys perform their songs, I had to question myself why they were never on my playlists! Had I youtube atleast one of their tracks, I know I would immediately become a fan and true enough, I became a HUGE fan before the show even ended. Thank God for bffs like Dezzy who was "alert" enough to provide m & g passes before I could even want it..haha Otherwise I would have died of jealousy if I never get to meet these guys upclose after witnessing their undeniable awesomeness onstage :)

I had to go to work that same night , so I immediately booked a hotel in Ortigas just to be able to watch them again the next day since they'll be up North. At that time they were scheduled to perform live in Trinoma. Since I get off work at 10 am , I figured it'll be convenient to just leave the office and go straight into the hotel so I could catch a few hours of sleep, hit the shower and look a bit decent before going to their show. Luckily the front desk girl who had me booked at Richmonde hotel was nice enough to offer me a discount with breakfast so I already know it was going to be pretty much a fantastic day :) I also get to take another one of my bffs , Ate Myra to stay with me overnight so I wont have to be alone during my stay.

I also got to meet Matt Wilson who tours with the band who I had a major crush on the first time I saw him walking 'round G5! He is super cute!!! Told my friends about it and being the crazy friends/Partners in crime that they are, They proactively asked him to take a pic with me (which I was really embarrassed about by the way) , becau
se he really isn't part of the band WHICH gives away the fact that I just really fancy him!  #soobusted  . He was really a sweetheart though! He was super accommodating and He didn't mind at all! He actually looked happy entertaining us haha  I remember I was standing in front of Uniqlo (G5) which is on the left part of the stage and Dezzy saw Matt standing on the side of the stage kinda close to where we're at and She started saying silly things like having Matt come down  the stage , over to us, so I can take a photo with him. I seriously thought she was just kidding but the next thing I know , Matt is in front of me saying "Hi" and because I was super embarrassed of how obvious it was! I said, You look like my favorite guitarist, Good thing He didn't ask who! Well He did look a bit like Andy Skib tho', with those pretty eyes and all *sigh* Anyways, we saw him again in Trinoma and he was even sweeter then than he was on the previous day! He even gave us his Facebook and made funny faces when we took a photo together. He made me so darn kilig , Syet Na miss ko! lols

Sharing some photos from the awesome 2 days!

Bazooka Birthday Weekend

Let me start off by stating that this is , (yet again) another uber late post.. lol.

Heck I try to be consistent but I have been ridiculously busy that I barely have time to get online the last few months. I am trying to take advantage of this one week freedom though...( Yay to VLs that i almost didnt get!) hence the semi-flooding blog posts :D

My birthday falls on the 27th of August and I think it was extremely amazeballs that Bazooka Rocks II took place just 2 days before my birthday! -Thank you PULP!- This year's line up made me freakishly giddy too! The list had a number of my international faves such as All Time Low, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, A Rocket To The Moon (which was , btw, the last show of the guys in Manila :( ) Radio Drive By and many others like We Came As Romans, Tonight Alive, Anberlin and amazing local acts such as Save me Hollywood, Mad Hatter Day etc...

A day before the show, Me and my gals went to Mall of Asia for the m & g sesh, Some of my friends who had themselves booked asap scored royalty passes but bcos we didn't made it in time to get us m&g's we settled at some spot where we can see them entering the venue upclose to atleast say "Hi'. Got a bit of a luck cos we did see them walking by..We didn't get too close though , With the number of securities they had, We couldnt risk our luck, Just too scared, they'd beat the crap out of us haha :P

Everything worked out in the end though! We got to hang out with TA a bit, Met the lovely guys of RDB a night before and "during" the show who all hugged and wished me a Happy Birthday! I even got a postcard c/o bff Dezzy with these guys writing me a HBD! Evan from RDB also pinky-swore that they're coming back which was quite sweet! We also met Anberlin's lead vocalist and I got possibly the "GREATEST" fan pic you could imagine with my most fave RJA ever - Joey Westwood ! I also "swapped" shirts with "Eversay" and Ronnie Winter's friend/entourage Jesse Carroll who hang out with us , and Nadeem from Skesh Ent, their uber cool Asian tour manager! Both stayed about an hour or 2 chitchatting with me and 3 of my friends (Dezzy, Myra and Cherry) on the streets of Manila to one of the most inspiring conversations I ever had my entire "fangirling" life ! Thought it was amazing how they were both super down to earth! I've learned so much just by talking to them :) Jesse also made me these 4 page list of bands I should listen to, had me watch one of their tracks on Youtube called This Time (Ronnie Winter is the drummer!) which is really a big favorite of mine now! I remember apologizing for being "where we were" at that moment afraid that we might be disturbing them in any way but they were nice enough to say that they could totally get where we are and Had it been their choice , They'd get us past security! I love how they kept saying that they are just like us and how they told me I look between 24 or 25 haha! We were gonna take some photos when Jess saw my Forever 21 shirt which had Jim Morrison from The Doors face printed on it and begged (literally) to swap shirts with me. Its crazy how he never cared that I was wearing it, He just got to have my shirt! lol. He went up and got me a clean shirt to swap with and I didn't realize just how serious he was until he took his shirt off and wore mine unwashed. Crazy dude lol ..Truth is, The shirt isn't so bad. I actually kind of liked it! =)

Nadeem also handed us all A "Scarlet Heroes" CD and loved every track! Everyone reading this, You should hear "Rock n Roll Juliet"..You'll love it for reals!!!

Anyway sharing some photos! Please G+ or share if you love pls! =)
